Liseth Salgado Excels at Sunnyside High School and Pursues a Future in Dentistry

Liseth Salgado, a committed student and prominent member of the Sunnyside High School (SHS) community, has announced her intention to major in Biology at the University of Washington, with the goal of becoming a dentist. Liseth recently graduated from SHS with an impressive GPA of 3.90 and has made a significant impact through her academic achievements and involvement in extracurricular activities.

During her time at SHS, Liseth has been an active participant in various school activities, including serving as the Captain of the SHS Cheer team, Business Manager of the ASB Council, and Secretary of the National Honor Society. In addition to their leadership roles, Leo has participated in other school clubs such as Advanced Leadership, Link Crew, and Pep Club.
Liseth’s commitment extends beyond academics and school spirit, having dedicated over 200 hours to community service initiatives. Notable contributions include coordinating the Mr. SHS pageant to raise funds for Children’s Village, supporting sporting events for special needs students, and hosting a Little Girls Cheer Camp for three years.
Liseth has received several awards for her dedication and efforts, including the Heart of Gold Award in 2022, the Most Improved Award in 2023, and multiple Athletic Academic Achievement Awards.
Liseth is deeply committed not only to her academics and school spirit but also to community service, having dedicated over 200 hours to various initiatives. Her notable contributions include coordinating the Mr. SHS pageant to raise funds for Children’s Village, supporting sporting events for students with special needs, and hosting a Little Girls Cheer Camp for three years.

Her inspiring words reflect a commitment to resilience and determination—values instilled in her by her parents. Liseth expresses gratitude to her parents, Leo and Rosa Salgado. She also acknowledges teacher Jessica Darbyson for her unwavering encouragement. As the oldest of four siblings, Liseth has two younger brothers, Leo, 15, and Bryan, 10, as well as a younger sister, Brianna, who is 2 years old. In her scholarship application, Liseth emphasized the importance of family support in her journey.
