The Smith Family Trust Scholarship

Bill and Janet Smith have sparked an extraordinary legacy that will inspire and empower Sunnyside High School graduates for generations to come! The Smiths called Sunnyside home from 1981 to 2005, raising their family with pride and purpose.

Mr. Smith led with heart as a dedicated member of the Sunnyside School Board from 1999 to 2005 and made a difference every day as a nurse anesthetist at Sunnyside Community Hospital.

All four of their children proudly graduated from Sunnyside High School, and now the Smiths are paying it forward in a big way. Their scholarship trust fund is a game-changing opportunity, fueling the dreams of future Sunnyside graduates as they pursue their post-secondary educational goals.

The Smith Family is thrilled to give back to the vibrant community that shaped their lives and continues to hold a special place in their hearts. This impressive scholarship can be renewed for up to 4 years, for a total of $20,000!

Class of 2022 Recipient and SHS Co-Valedictorian, Yoceline Mazuvi Madrigal

The very first recipient was the outstanding Yoceline Mazuvi Madrigal from the Class of 2022, who is graduating this spring from WSU Tri-Cities with a degree in nursing.
