WSU Bound Audrina Campos: SHS Alumni Endowment Scholarship Recipient Inspires with Passion and Perseverance
The Sunnyside High School Alumni Scholarship Fund is proud to celebrate the remarkable journey of Audrina Campos, a 2026 graduate whose story shines as a beacon of perseverance, leadership, and hope for the Sunnyside community. This year, Audrina has been awarded the SHS Alumni Endowment Scholarship, honoring her dedication to academics, athletics, community service, and the unwavering pursuit of her dreams.
A proud Sunnyside native and the daughter of Roy and Amy Campos, Audrina has made the most of her time at SHS. She earned a 3.12 GPA while balancing an impressive slate of extracurricular activities, including the SHS Grizzly Dance Team, Girls Wrestling, Varsity Soccer, Cross Country, Leadership, and Link Crew. Her commitment to leadership was evident in her service as Junior and Senior Class Program Chair, guiding her peers and fostering school spirit.
Audrina’s service extended beyond school walls. She was honored as 1st Princess on the Miss Sunnyside Court, volunteered for “Shop with a Cop,” and helped raise funds for the Children’s Miracle Network. Her athletic and academic efforts were recognized with awards such as the SHS Power Student of the Month, SHS Athletic Achievement, WIAA State Wrestling Participant, and the Youth Award.

In her scholarship application, Audrina shares that, as a first-generation Hispanic college student, this opportunity holds special significance. “Being awarded one of these scholarships will help me be in better financial standing and take off some of the stress from being a first-year college student,” she explains, reflecting her gratitude and determination.
This fall, Audrina will attend Washington State University to pursue a degree in Criminology & Criminal Justice with aspirations to become an FBI Agent specializing in Behavioral Analysis. With plans to minor in psychology, she hopes to use her education to serve and protect, understanding the complexities of both the law and the human mind.
Audrina credits mentors like Christina Peabody and Stacey Alseth for supporting her growth and providing opportunities to contribute to SHS. She lives by the words of Michael Jackson: “Always believe in yourself. No matter who’s around you, being negative or thrusting negative energy at you, totally block it off. Because whatever you believe, you become.”
Audrina Campos embodies the spirit of Sunnyside: resilient, ambitious, and determined to make a difference. We congratulate her on her achievements and wish her continued success as she embarks on her journey at WSU and beyond.
ABOUT THE SHS ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP
For the last 11 years, the Alumni Association has received contributions from SHS Alumni, Sunnyside Community Members, Businesses, Parents and Friends of SHS, and the greater Sunnyside Community. We have invested these contributions in an Endowment Account.
We use the earnings and interest earned to award scholarships to deserving SHS Senior Graduates each year. As the Fund grows larger, the scholarships do too! This year, we increased the number of scholarships awarded from the Fund from three (3) to four (4) Scholarships and the amount of each scholarship from $2,500 to $3,000. We hope that as the Endowment grows, we can help more graduates reach their post-secondary goals.
